Sheep seemed to be this season’s breakout animal, so it’s only fitting that Pringle of Scotland, the original ovine-lover, has done away with sheep’s accessory status altogether in a new ad campaign. Tilda Swinton will return to their ads this fall, but for now, photographer Andreas Hempel shoots our woolly friends posing majestically on the Scottish coast.
The opening of Pringle of Scotlands’s third boutique in HongKong was set at ‘The Landmark’ on 07 October 2010, proving to be a testament to the importance of the growing asian market as well as affirming their strong retail presence of Pringle of Scotland in the global luxury arena. This also heightens the celebration of the brand’s 195th anniversary.
The whole atrium of The Landmark was dedicated to the exclusive grand opening VIP cocktail reception joined in harmony with the brand’s exhibition titled ” 195 Collaborations” – a partnership with the prestigious Serpentine Gallery, one of London’s best loved galleries for modern and contemporary art and architecture. Together, they have commissioned a series of unique editions designed by a group of artists to create new works inspired by iconic products such as the Twinset and Argyle.
Back home in Scotland, to express their support for the ‘2010 Campaign for Wool‘, an initiative, patronised by H.R.H The Prince of Wales was created to recognise wool as the first choice yarn for sustainability, durability and quality. To further commermorate the campaign, Pringle of Scotland has partnered with Tatler’s editor, Catherine Ostler and Clare Waight Keller to produce an exclusively designed and limited edition twinset which takes inspiration from Her Majesty The Queen.
